Welcome to Translate AI - Voice & Text (shown on your device as "AI Translator", the "App"), published by OXVENU ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, where it goes, and the choices you have.
Summary

Information We Process
Text You Translate (AI Translation)
When you translate with AI, the App sends the following to our AI translation provider over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection:
- The text you submit for translation.
- The names of the source and target languages.
No account details, contact information, device identifiers, photos, or audio are included.
Who receives it:
- OpenRouter, Inc. (openrouter.ai) — an AI routing service that receives the request and forwards it to the model provider. The App asks OpenRouter to route requests only to Anthropic's own API.
- Anthropic PBC (anthropic.com) — the provider of the Claude AI model that performs the translation.
The text is used only to return the translated result to you. Please review OpenRouter's Privacy Policy and Anthropic's Privacy Policy for how they handle data.
Your consent: Before any text is sent, the App shows a consent screen that names these services. You must explicitly agree first. If the AI provider changes, the App asks for your consent again. You can decline, in which case AI translation is not available.
Voice Input
When you tap the microphone, the App uses Apple's speech recognition (iOS Speech framework) to turn your speech into text. Depending on your device, language, and settings, Apple may process the audio on your device or on Apple's servers under Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive, record, or store your audio. Only the resulting text is translated as described above.
Camera and Photo Input
When you take a photo or choose one from your library, text in the image is recognized entirely on your device using Google ML Kit text recognition. The photo is never uploaded. Only the extracted text is sent for translation as described above. When you choose a photo, the system photo picker gives the App access only to the photo you select.
Offline Translation
Offline translation and language detection use Google ML Kit models that run on your device. Language packs you choose are downloaded from Google. Google ML Kit may collect limited diagnostic and usage information about these on-device features; see Google's Privacy Policy.
Text-to-Speech
Spoken playback of translations uses Apple's on-device speech synthesis.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores your settings (app language, theme, last used language pair), your consent choice, and the number of free translations used, locally on your device. This data is deleted when you uninstall the App.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. The App checks your purchase status with Apple to unlock premium features.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No accounts: You do not need to create an account or provide your name or email address.
- No translation history on our servers: We do not operate servers that store your translations, photos, or audio.
- No advertising or tracking: We do not show ads, track you across apps, or sell your data.
Data Retention
We do not retain your translation content. OpenRouter and Anthropic handle request data according to their own policies linked above.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not keep translation content or accounts, most data can be removed by deleting the App. For requests about data handled by OpenRouter or Anthropic, you can contact them directly or reach us at the address below and we will help.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will help remove it.
Security
Text sent for translation is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. If a change affects which third parties receive your text, the App will ask for your consent again.
